Each chapter of my life has shaped who I am and led me to discover my true path. By navigating my own journey, I’ve found purpose in helping others through theirs—offering the support, guidance, and genuine care that can make all the difference.
When my husband first suggested I get my real estate license in 2004, I hadn’t pictured myself in this field. At the time, I was searching for a career that would offer flexibility for our lifestyle and allow me to work alongside him as he ran his own business. I decided to give it a try, not knowing it would become my true calling.
Looking back, I realize how much my upbringing in Nashville shaped the way I approach life and work. I grew up in a close-knit family where my mom was always involved in our school and community, teaching me the value of showing up for others and following through on commitments. I played the trumpet throughout school, and being part of jazz bands, marching bands, and solo competitions taught me discipline, organization, and the value of upholding a commitment. These qualities have served me well in every chapter of my life.
Before beginning my career in real estate, I worked in a variety of fields, including accounting, banking, a pediatric dental office, rural mail delivery, and assisting in the operation of my husband’s business, which gave me a strong foundation in customer service, organization, and business management. Each role taught me something valuable, like how to manage finances, communicate with people from all walks of life, and adapt to new challenges. These skills became the foundation for my work as a REALTOR®, where every day brings a new situation and a new opportunity to help someone.
The early years in real estate were exciting. Our rural area was growing, and I loved helping families find their dream homes. But the real test came in 2008, when the market crashed. I quickly learned the importance of resilience and resourcefulness. I became well-versed in foreclosures, helping clients avoid losing their hard-earned equity and guiding them through some of the most stressful moments of their lives. It was during these tough times that I realized my job was about so much more than buying and selling houses. It was about being a trustworthy, honest advocate for people when they needed it most.
As a result of those experiences, I always walk my clients through the true cost of homeownership. I’m never trying to find a home at the top of their budget because I want them to have money left over for the unexpected things that can come up, like a new AC unit, fixing a roof, or damage from a storm. I want to put my clients in the best possible position when they buy a home.
In my own life, I’ve faced some challenges that have furthered my empathy and compassion for others. In 2025, I lost my husband after a long illness. Suddenly, I found myself not only as the sole provider but also caring for my mother-in-law, who has dementia. Navigating grief while taking on new responsibilities was overwhelming at times, but my close-knit family and friends and the joy I find in helping others gave me strength. These experiences have taught me empathy, patience, and the importance of community.
Now, I feel I am entering a new chapter. I am ready to grow my business with renewed purpose, using the lessons I’ve learned and the life experiences I’ve lived to guide and support others through their own transitions. Whether you’re buying your first home, relocating, or facing unexpected challenges, I am here to help you navigate the journey with honesty, compassion, and expertise.
Outside of work, I stay active in the Cheatham County Art League, love to travel (Greece and Tahiti are favorites), and cherish time with my German shepherd, Onyx. I’ve also visited every state except Alaska.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life is full of chapters. Some are joyful, some are difficult, but all are meaningful. I’m grateful for every lesson and look forward to helping others write their next chapter, too.
